FUTA Admission List for 2026/2027: The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) admission list for the 2026/2027 academic session contains the names of candidates who have been offered admission into the university’s undergraduate programmes.
Candidates who applied to FUTA through JAMB and participated in the required screening exercise can now begin checking their admission status. Recent reports indicate that FUTA admission offers for the 2026/2027 session have started appearing on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (JAMB CAPS).
However, candidates should understand that admission updates may not appear for everyone at the same time. Some candidates may see an admission offer immediately, while others may see statuses such as “Admission in Progress” or “Recommended” before a final decision is displayed.
This article explains how to check the FUTA admission list for 2026/2027, how to check your status through JAMB CAPS, what the different admission statuses mean, and what to do after receiving an admission offer.
Is FUTA Admission List for 2026/2027 Out?
Yes. Admission offers for the FUTA 2026/2027 academic session have started appearing on JAMB CAPS, according to recent reports on the admission process. Candidates should therefore log in to JAMB CAPS and check their individual admission status.
It is important to note that checking the admission status of one candidate does not mean that every FUTA applicant will have received an offer. Universities can release admissions in batches, and candidates may receive updates at different times.
Candidates should also rely on their personal JAMB CAPS status rather than screenshots or messages circulating on social media.
How to Check FUTA Admission List 2026/2027 on JAMB CAPS
The easiest way to confirm your FUTA admission status is through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System.
Follow these steps:
- Visit the official JAMB e-Facility portal.
- Log in with the email address and password connected to your JAMB profile.
- Select Check Admission Status.
- Select the relevant examination year.
- Select 2026 as the examination year where applicable.
- Click on Access My CAPS.
- Select Admission Status.
- Check the message displayed on your screen.
If FUTA has offered you admission and JAMB has processed the offer, your admission status will show the appropriate admission message.
Candidates should carefully check the exact status displayed on their own JAMB profile.
How to Check FUTA Admission Status on a Phone
Candidates using Android phones or other mobile devices may sometimes have difficulty seeing all the JAMB CAPS options.
If this happens, open your browser and activate Desktop Site or Desktop Mode. Then log in to your JAMB account again and access the CAPS section.
You should avoid giving your JAMB password or login details to strangers who claim that they can check or process admission for you.
FUTA Admission Status and What It Means
When checking JAMB CAPS, candidates may see different messages.
1. Admission Offered
If your CAPS shows Admission Offered, it means that an admission offer has been made to you.
Candidates who receive an offer should carefully follow the instructions provided by JAMB and FUTA and complete the required acceptance process within the specified period.
2. Admission in Progress
An Admission in Progress message means the admission process has not yet reached its final stage on CAPS.
Candidates with this status should continue checking their JAMB profile periodically rather than assuming that they have been rejected.
3. Recommended
A Recommended status can indicate that the institution has recommended the candidate for admission while the admission is still undergoing the necessary processing.
Candidates should continue monitoring CAPS until a final admission decision is displayed.
4. Not Admitted
If CAPS displays Not Admitted, it means an admission offer has not been recorded for the candidate at that point.
Candidates should continue checking if the admission process is still ongoing, because the status displayed on CAPS can change during an admission exercise.
How to Accept FUTA Admission on JAMB CAPS
If JAMB CAPS displays an admission offer, candidates should log in and follow the available instructions to accept the offer.
Do not accept an admission offer simply because someone sends you a message claiming that FUTA has admitted you. Confirm the offer directly on your JAMB profile.
After accepting the admission, candidates should monitor both their JAMB profile and FUTA’s official communication channels for further instructions.
What to Do After FUTA Offers You Admission
Receiving admission on JAMB CAPS is an important stage, but candidates still need to complete the necessary post-admission procedures.
After seeing an admission offer, you should:
- Confirm the exact course and institution stated on the admission.
- Accept the admission through the appropriate JAMB process.
- Print your JAMB admission letter when available.
- Monitor the official FUTA website and admission portal for registration instructions.
- Follow FUTA’s instructions concerning acceptance and school charges.
- Prepare the required academic and personal documents.
- Complete the university’s registration process within the stated deadline.

FUTA 2026/2027 Admission Screening Requirements
The university’s official 2026/2027 screening notice stated that UTME candidates who scored at least 180 in the 2026 UTME and selected FUTA as their first-choice institution were eligible for the screening exercise. Direct Entry candidates who selected FUTA as their first choice were also eligible.
The notice further required candidates to have at least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Candidates were also required to upload their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS.
The official notice also stated that candidates must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to be considered for admission.
Meeting the screening requirements, however, does not automatically mean that a candidate will receive admission. Admission depends on the university’s selection process and the availability of spaces in the relevant programmes.
FUTA Post-UTME Screening for 2026/2027
FUTA conducted its 2026/2027 undergraduate screening exercise for eligible UTME and Direct Entry candidates.
According to the university’s official announcement, registration for the screening exercise was extended to July 31, 2026. The screening fee was ₦2,000, payable through the stated payment procedure.
The university also stated that candidates who were not screened would not be considered for admission.
Therefore, candidates who participated in the screening should now concentrate on monitoring their JAMB CAPS and official FUTA admission updates.
Will FUTA Release Admission in Batches?
Candidates should understand that university admission processes can involve different stages and updates.
Therefore, if your friend has already received an admission offer but yours has not appeared, it does not automatically mean that you have been rejected.
The most reliable thing to do is to continue checking your JAMB CAPS and monitor FUTA’s official admission information.
What If My FUTA Admission Status Has Not Changed?
If your JAMB CAPS still shows a status such as “Not Admitted,” “Admission in Progress,” or “Recommended,” do not immediately conclude that the admission exercise is over.
Check your profile again later and make sure that:
- Your O’Level result has been uploaded to JAMB CAPS.
- Your personal details are correct.
- You participated in the FUTA screening exercise.
- You selected FUTA as your first-choice institution where required.
- You are checking the correct JAMB profile.
- You monitor official FUTA announcements.
FUTA’s official 2026/2027 screening notice specifically stated that O’Level results had to be uploaded to JAMB CAPS by the stated deadline for candidates to remain eligible for admission.
Can I Check the FUTA Admission List Without JAMB CAPS?
Candidates should not depend on unofficial websites, WhatsApp messages, Facebook posts, or screenshots as proof of admission.
The safest way to confirm an individual admission offer is through the candidate’s JAMB CAPS account and official FUTA communication.
FUTA maintains an official admission portal containing university admission information and notices.
What Documents Should I Prepare After Admission?
Candidates who are offered admission should prepare their important documents before beginning registration.
These may include:
- JAMB result or registration details
- JAMB admission letter
- O’Level result
- Birth certificate or declaration of age
- Certificate of origin
- Passport photographs
- Screening registration details
- Any other document requested by FUTA
The exact documents and registration procedure should be confirmed from FUTA’s official instructions when the university provides them.
Important Warning to FUTA Admission Seekers
Candidates should be careful with people who claim that they can “help” them secure FUTA admission in exchange for money.
Admission decisions should be confirmed through official channels. Never treat a payment request from an unknown individual as proof that you have been admitted.
FUTA’s official website provides admission and undergraduate portal links for students and candidates.
