What Does LASU Admission Status Mean?
When you check your admission status, the message displayed can tell you the current stage of your admission.
Admission Offered
If your status says Admission Offered, it means an admission offer has been made available to you.
You should carefully follow the instructions for accepting the admission and completing the remaining LASU admission procedures.
Admission in Progress
If your admission status indicates that the admission process is still in progress, it means the final admission decision has not yet been completed or reflected on the relevant system.
Candidates with this status should continue checking their LASU portal and JAMB CAPS.
Not Admitted
A Not Admitted status means an admission offer is not currently showing on the candidate’s JAMB admission record.
If the admission process is still ongoing, candidates can continue checking for updates.
Admission Offered on JAMB CAPS but Not Showing on LASU Portal
Sometimes information on the university portal and JAMB CAPS may not update at exactly the same time.
If JAMB CAPS shows an admission offer while the LASU portal has not yet reflected it, candidates should keep checking the official platforms and follow any instructions provided by LASU or JAMB.
What to Do After LASU Offers You Admission
Getting admission into LASU is only the beginning of the registration process.
Candidates who receive admission should complete the required procedures within the stated period.
1. Confirm Your Admission
First, confirm that the admission offer is genuine through JAMB CAPS and the official LASU portal.
Do not rely solely on a WhatsApp message, screenshot or unofficial admission list.
2. Accept the Admission
If you want to take the admission offer, follow the applicable JAMB procedure to accept it.
Candidates should carefully review the admission information before responding to an offer.
3. Complete LASU Admission Clearance
LASU has officially commenced its Central Admissions Clearance (LACACA) for admitted full-time undergraduate students for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The official LASU clearance portal requires:
- JAMB number
- Surname
Candidates should follow the instructions displayed on the official clearance portal.
4. Pay Approved Fees
After admission and clearance instructions have been made available, candidates should check the official LASU portal for the applicable acceptance, medical, school and other approved charges.
LASU previously announced that its acceptance-fee and medical-fee payment portal was opened for 2026/2027 UTME candidates on July 30, 2026.
5. Print Your Admission Documents
Keep copies of your admission documents and payment receipts.
These documents may be required during clearance and registration.
6. Complete Registration
After completing the required clearance and payments, follow LASU’s registration instructions for newly admitted students.
LASU Admission Clearance 2026/2027
LASU’s official website has published information about the Central Admissions Clearance (LACACA) for full-time undergraduate students admitted for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The official online clearance portal currently identifies itself as:
Lagos State University – 2026/2027 Central Admission Clearance – Undergraduate.
The portal provides fields for the candidate’s JAMB Number and Surname.
Candidates who have received admission should therefore pay attention to LASU’s official clearance instructions and deadlines.
LASU Admission List 2026/2027 for UTME Candidates
UTME candidates who selected LASU and participated in the required admission screening exercise can check their admission status through the official channels.
For the 2026/2027 admission screening exercise, LASU required eligible UTME candidates to have selected LASU as their first-choice institution and scored at least 195 in the UTME, alongside other requirements.
However, meeting the minimum screening score does not automatically mean that a candidate will receive admission.
Admission depends on the programme, candidate’s qualifications, screening outcome and the university’s admission process.
LASU Direct Entry Admission 2026/2027
LASU also conducts admission through the Direct Entry route for eligible candidates.
Direct Entry candidates should check their admission status through the appropriate LASU and JAMB platforms.
For the 2026/2027 session, LASU’s Direct Entry screening information states that candidates must have obtained the relevant JAMB Direct Entry form and selected LASU as their first choice.
Candidates should also meet the O’Level and programme-specific requirements applicable to their chosen course.
LASU Admission List for Nursing 2026/2027
Candidates who applied for Nursing Science should check their LASU admission status through the same official admission channels.
LASU’s 2026/2027 screening requirements include a general UTME threshold of 195 for eligible candidates, but candidates seeking competitive programmes such as Nursing must also satisfy the programme-specific academic requirements.
Therefore, a candidate should not assume that scoring the general minimum automatically guarantees admission into Nursing.
LASU Admission List for Medicine and Surgery 2026/2027
Candidates who applied for Medicine and Surgery should also check their individual admission status through LASU and JAMB CAPS.
Medicine and Surgery has additional academic requirements, so candidates should ensure that their O’Level subjects and UTME subject combination meet the requirements specified by LASU for the programme.
Meeting the general LASU screening threshold alone should not be interpreted as a guarantee of admission into Medicine and Surgery.
LASU Admission List for Law 2026/2027
Candidates who selected Law should check their admission status through the official LASU portal and JAMB CAPS.
Law candidates should also make sure they satisfy the programme’s specific admission requirements.
The university’s admission process considers more than simply whether a candidate has reached the general screening threshold.
What If Your Name Is Not on the LASU Admission List?
If you check the LASU portal and do not see an admission offer, there is no need to immediately conclude that your application has failed.
Your admission status may still be undergoing processing, depending on the stage of the admission exercise.
Things to Check
If your status is not yet showing admission:
- Check the LASU admission portal again.
- Check JAMB CAPS.
- Confirm that your JAMB details are correct.
- Confirm that your O’Level result has been uploaded to JAMB where required.
- Check that you meet your programme’s requirements.
- Monitor official LASU announcements.
- Keep your application details and registration documents safe.
Recent admission information advises candidates whose status is still pending or not admitted to continue checking both LASU and JAMB CAPS while admission processing continues.
Can LASU Admission Status Change?
Yes. Admission status can change as admission processing continues.
A candidate may initially see a pending status and later receive an admission offer.
This is why candidates should regularly check their status instead of relying on one result from one day.
However, candidates should only rely on the information displayed through official LASU and JAMB systems.
Does LASU Release Admission in Batches?
Admission information may be released and updated in stages during the admission exercise.
Recent 2026/2027 admission reporting lists LASU among Nigerian institutions that had released admission information for the session.
Candidates should therefore continue monitoring their admission status if they have not yet received an offer.
LASU Acceptance Fee After Admission
After receiving an admission offer, candidates should check the official LASU portal for the current acceptance-fee payment instructions.
LASU’s official news page reported the opening of the acceptance-fee and medical-fee payment portal for 2026/2027 UTME candidates on July 30, 2026.
Candidates should not assume that an old acceptance-fee amount found online is still applicable.
Always check the amount generated by the official LASU payment system for your admission.
LASU School Fees After Admission
School fees are separate from the admission-list process.
After accepting admission and completing the required clearance, candidates should check LASU’s official payment platform for the current charges applicable to their programme and student category.
Before paying, confirm:
- Academic session
- Programme
- Level
- Student category
- Total amount
- Payment deadline
- Official payment channel
Do not make university payments into personal bank accounts belonging to individuals claiming to be agents.
How to Avoid LASU Admission Scams
Admission periods can attract fraudulent individuals who claim to have access to admission lists or university officials.
Candidates should be particularly careful with messages promising guaranteed admission in exchange for money.
LASU has previously warned the public about fraudulent claims involving admission and unauthorised payment links.
Avoid These Mistakes
Do not pay for a “guaranteed” admission.
No stranger should be trusted simply because they claim to have access to LASU admission officers.
Do not share your JAMB password.
Keep your login details private.
Do not use unofficial payment links.
Use the payment system provided through LASU’s official website.
Do not rely on fake admission lists.
Verify your status through LASU and JAMB CAPS.
Documents LASU Freshers Should Prepare
Candidates who have received admission should begin preparing their documents.
Depending on LASU’s current clearance requirements, you may need documents such as:
- JAMB admission letter
- JAMB result
- LASU screening information
- O’Level result
- Birth certificate or declaration of age
- Passport photographs
- Indigene or relevant identification documents where applicable
- Acceptance-fee receipt
- Medical-fee payment evidence
- Other documents requested by LASU
Candidates should use the current LASU clearance instructions as the final guide because requirements can change between admission sessions.
Common LASU Admission Portal Problems
Some candidates may encounter problems while checking their admission status.
Wrong JAMB Number
Check that your JAMB registration number is entered correctly.
Wrong Surname
Use the surname associated with your LASU application.
Portal Not Loading
A temporary network or server problem may prevent the page from loading. Try again later using a stable internet connection.
CAPS Not Showing Admission
If LASU has communicated an admission offer but JAMB CAPS has not updated, continue checking both platforms and follow official instructions.

Continue monitoring the official platforms while admission processing remains active.
